Bling Bang

Bling Bang
An Australian HipHopera
A Dancing, Rhyming, Theatrical Journey into Australian Urban Hip Hop Culture

Starring the young Australians that inspired the story themselves; comes this rhythmical, lyrical, visual journey; wrapping words around the realities of a contemporary multicultural Australia – a hiphopera. Speaking from the hearts of their experience and from the far corners of life’s practice, we are granted a first-hand view of lives tearing, rolling and growing through Sudanese refugee camps, physical disability and drug rehabilitation. Bling Bang is a journey into lyrical eloquence full of wide-eyed inspirations, and freedom from limitations.

Bling Bang is supported by internationally renowned Director Toby Gough (Lady Salsa) and Producer Hana Alhadad (Children of the Sea) whose work has travelled from the hardships in Sri Lanka all the way to the Edinburgh Festival. Born out of Access Arts Keepin it Real Program; starring music by Tigermoth & Suckaphish, krump by Soul Purpose, costumes and models by Unearth fashion, and introducing THE K.I.R. KRU…. Bling Bang will hip-hop into history.

Bling Bang beats will drop on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th November at the Visy Theatre, Brisbane Powerhouse. Doors opening at 7.30pm and tickets are $15/$12 from the Powerhouse www.brisbanepowerhouse.org.
